3rd Ward, Bergson Leneus

bergteens.jpgMr. Bergson Leneus was born in Newark, New Jersey to Haitian immigrant parents and was raised in East Orange / Orange. Born the second of four boys, Mr. Leneus has lived with his wife, and four children, and worked in the City of East Orange for over 15 years. Mr. Leneus, better known as “Berg” to close family and friends, graduated from Seton Hall Preparatory High School and earned his bachelor degree in Philosophy from Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey.

Mr. Leneus is also the property manager for The Park View at 320 where he manages several hundred units within the City of East Orange. Bergson has over 5 years of experience in the property management field. During this time, he has overseen the due diligence and eventual acquisition of over 60 million in assets in the local community. Berg has also overseen over 15 million in capital improvement renovations over the past 5 years.

Berg is no stranger to community service as he was sworn in as an East Orange Board of Education member in 2012. He has served in the capacity of President for the past 3 years and has volunteered his time and efforts to ensure that all the families of the East Orange school district receive a quality public education. Berg has been a change agent and has led the charge in the resurgence of the entire school district with some bold, innovative, and progressive moves. The district has achieved tremendous gains in academic achievement, safety, cleanliness (in and around the schools), use of technology, and budget solvency during Berg’s tenure.

Bergson's community involvement continues as he is also the President of a nonprofit organization called the Leneus Family Foundation. Founded in 2013 the organization is dedicated to creating opportunities for children in the local community of East Orange as well as Haiti.

Mr. Bergson Leneus’ success, not only in business but in community involvement, has proven him to be a pillar of strength. He continuously finds new ways to improve himself and to give back to the community. From his experience as a property manager, to his experience as the East Orange Board of Education President and President of the Leneus Family Foundation, Berg is a well-rounded individual whose roots lie within the community.
