Councilman James’ political interest began in his early childhood at his mother Maxine James side as she worked tirelessly, selflessly, and courageously for the late Congressman Donald M. Payne, Sr. It was from his mother that he learned the meaning of public service: “It’s not about what you get but what you give”. It was at this time that he committed his life to helping citizens and communities find their voice in the public forum. Chris’ selfless nature has taken him all the way to Trenton.
